Von Grey, a trio of classically trained musicians (and sisters), are premiering their new song "Dawn" exclusively for readers of The Boot. Press play below to listen.

Comprised of Annika, Fiona and Kathryn Von Grey, the self-named trio brings richly layered harmonies and precise musicianship to this simple, sparse song. According to the band, "Dawn" was written to be a comforting tune, with a vulnerability that showcases compassion and the nurturing presence of a sister.

"Hope will be in the light corners of the dawn," the trio sings. "I have watched you break under what you don't deserve / I've watched you mix up the touch of love and hurt / I want you to know you're not alone."

"While tenderly consoling the individual, the singer gently reminds her that despite her experiences of trauma, which are so frequently silenced and distorted, she shouldn’t lose hope," explains Annika Von Grey. "The song’s singer represents a nurturing sister, sympathetically comforting a loved one and creating unity between the two."

Considering that the oldest member of Von Grey, Kathryn, is only 23 years old, the band has already racked up an impressive list of accomplishments. They've performed on The Late Show With David Letterman and Late Night With Conan O'Brien, as well as made appearances at major festivals such as Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits.

"Dawn" appears on Von Grey's forthcoming album, In Bloom: Acoustic, set for release on July 20. Visit VonGreyMusic.com for more on the band and the record.
