The Abilene Animal Shelter needs us now! We need to adopt one of these lost, found, abandoned, or surrendered pets. With the hottest month of the year still on the way we should all think about saving one of the beautiful fur babies before they run out of time and are put down.

LOOK: Do Any Of These Dogs Look Familiar

Justin Lelesch, the shelter's Director just informed me that they are still giving away all the bells, whistles, and chimes. What I mean is, every pet you adopt comes with vaccinations, heart-wormed, flea & tick dipped, and with the spay, neuter voucher included with each adoption.

Justin said "the shelter has had fewer adoptions, and a lot of pet owners that adotped during the pandemic are now returning their pets back to the shelter." Many of these pet owners are gretting rid of them because they don't want to leave them unattended while they're at work."

The Abilene Animal Services Shelter is way over capacity with mostly dogs, puppies and kittens. So, the Animal Shelter is in desperate need of responsible pet owners that can become forever homes for these awesome pets that just want someone to love and be loved.

Justin pleads, "if you cannot adopt, you may want to "foster" for a week or more until a room opens up at the shelter. The photos above are the actual dogs that need a home now before the shelter employees have to put any of these pets down.

The Abilene Animal Services Shelter is at 925 South 25th. The Shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 11 AM until 2 PM and 3 PM - 6 PM. For more information call the Abilene Animal Shelter at (325)-698-0085.
