Tuesday night (Sept. 24) ushered in the second night of The Voice's Season 17 blind auditions—allowing returning coaches Blake SheltonKelly Clarkson and John Legend, as well as returning alum Gwen Stefan, to take cracks at their initial team builds.

The night kicked off with some country flavor right away with the first performer, Shane Q from Sacramento, who explained he is a shuttle driver for people with special needs. He noted he enjoys talking to his passengers, because often they don't have anyone to talk to.

"Sometimes it can be easy for them to overlooked, and I understand that," he said. "Because my younger years in life, I was extremely shy. I was scared to talk to people. I got a song for you. I kind of broke out of my shell when I started singing."

Judging by his performance, Shane didn't have too much of a shell to break through. His warm delivery of Chris Stapleton's "Tennessee Whiskey" neatly scored him a four-chair turn.

Stefani turned first, and reminded the singer: " Hi, Shane. I turned my chair before everybody else. I noticed." The native Californian then tried to win some locals-only points. "I mean, you're from San Francisco, right?"

When Shane corrected that he's from Sacramento—which is not exactly near San Francisco— Shelton hooted, "I know you're making San Diego proud tonight," and Legend chimed in with "Santa Barbara! Santa Barbara!"

"Still in California," Shane answered all of this good-naturedly.

Shelton launched into a tirade touting his considerable resume on the show, which came across as making it a little too much about himself. Clarkson countered this with the opposite tactic, making it more about the performer at hand: "I think the most beautiful part about you is that you didn't categorize yourself. I love going in and out of genres, and that's what I love about my career. I would be good for you as a coach in that sense. We could give you any song, and you could nail it!"

Shane quickly and calmly made his decision, landing himself on Team Kelly.
