It’s still several months away, but NBC is already building hype for the 2018 Winter Olympics with a commercial that features Shania Twain’s much-anticipated new single. Readers can press play above to see the ad, set to Twain's "Life's About to Get Good."

Released on Saturday (May 6), during NBC's coverage of the 2017 Kentucky Derby, the 2018 Winter Olympics commercial features American Olympians, including snowboarder Shaun White and alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn. Twain herself does not appear in the ad, but it's the first time fans can hear the studio version of her new single.

“We’re always looking for a great piece of music to help tell the story,” NBC Sports chief marketing officer Jenny Storms tells Variety. “Especially when it’s the Olympics, you have an opportunity to tell a great story. This piece of music, "Life’s About to Get Good," speaks so perfectly to what we’re talking about.”

Although "Life's About to Get Good" hasn't been officially released yet, Twain premiered the song during her performance at the 2017 Stagecoach Country Music Festival at the end of April. The single is scheduled for release in June and will appear on Twain's as-yet-untitled new album, which is set for release in September; it will be the country star's first new work in more than 15 years.

Shania Twain Through the Years

“I let the songwriting lead the way and let the stories go where they wanted to go,” Twain says of the album. “I wanted to make sure I nurtured the authenticity and the acoustic elements in the album … I wanted to be true to my influences and to myself, and, stylistically, it just ended up being very diverse from one song to the next.”

Twain calls her forthcoming new record “an exercise in independence,” noting that it took “a huge leap of courage” for her to create the project alone.

“I just kept challenging myself,” Twain says, “and telling myself, ‘Okay, you’re going to write this album and we’ll find out what you’re made of these days.’”

The 2018 Winter Olympics will take place in PyongChang, South Korea, in February.
