Maren Morris earned a new notch in her belt this week by becoming the first country artist to top the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart since its inception in 2003. Her song "The Middle," a collaboration with Zedd and Grey that was released in late January, reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart in just four weeks.

It may be the "My Church" singer's first time in the spotlight on the dance charts, but Morris is no stranger to No. 1 singles in the realm of country. "I Could Use a Love Song," the third single from her debut album Heroclimbed to the top of the charts in 2017, as did her Thomas Rhett collaboration "Craving You." That single also netted Rhett and Morris an ACM nod for Vocal Event of the Year, a category that Morris actually appears in twice; she also has a nomination for her song "Dear Hate," which she performs with Vince Gill.

Aside from its radio popularity, Target also features "The Middle" prominently in a new commercial that debuted during the Grammy Awards ceremony on Jan. 28. The song also appears in a series of commercials for the retail chain that began on Feb. 4.

In addition to enjoying a successful foray into the realm of electro-pop, Morris also released her newest single, "Rich," in January. While decidedly country, that song showcases a wide spectrum of the sources from which the singer draws inspiration. "It's woven with every thread of my influences, from the country and R&B landscapes," she has said of her Hero album.
