Maren Morris is sharing her favorite moments of 2018, and it's a trio of personal accomplishments.

Before she takes the stage in New Orleans to help ring in 2019 as part of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest, the burgeoning superstar is reflecting on the significant moments that defined her year, citing three monumental achievements. It should come as no surprise that her marriage to Ryan Hurd is at the top of the list. Morris wed Hurd, a fellow singer-songwriter she met during a co-writing session, in March. She also cites her two hit songs that took over the radio as noteworthy highlights.

"To be a part of that genre and have such a massive song that was universal felt like a really new thing for me," she tells People about her applauded collaboration with Zedd on "The Middle."

Her first country radio chart-topper rounds out this impressive list of 2018 highs.

"I also had my first No. 1 song on country radio with 'I Could Use a Love Song,' which was such an honor and a long time in the making, it felt like," she shares.

Morris is about to top a year that doesn't seem toppable. In 2019 she's nominated for five Grammy Awards, including for Best Country Song for "Dear Hate" featuring Vince Gill and Song of the Year for "The Middle." She's also preparing to release her highly-anticipated sophomore album.

"There’s a few songs on the record that will kind of address the chaos that is the world at the moment — but in a human way," she tells Taste of Country about the project.
