Luke Bryan was a busy man during the American Idol Season 17 finale on Sunday night (May 19). The country star and TV singing competition judge got up onstage for a performance of his own, of his newest single, "Knockin' Boots."

Following a montage of some of Bryan's most hilarious and memorable moments as a judge on the show, Bryan kicked off a rocking version of "Knockin' Boots," taking plenty of time to high-five members of the audience as he danced around the stage.

Bryan was a master multi-tasker during the show's finale: Not only did he perform his judging duties and take the stage to deliver his own performance, but he also duetted with former contestant Laci Kaye Booth during the show.

Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson and Jon Nite co-wrote "Knockin' Boots," which Jeff and Jody Stevens produced. Bryan released the track by surprise in late March. The song comes from an as-yet-unannounced new album, the details of which are not yet known, though the project will reportedly be out by the end of the year.

Bryan will be spending his summer out on the road for his Sunset Repeat TourAmerican Idol has been renewed for an 18th season, its third on ABC, after its cancellation by Fox; specific details for the new season have not yet been revealed.
