Jason Eady, ‘That’s Alright’ [Exclusive Premiere]

Singer-songwriter Jason Eady will release a new album in August, and The Boot's readers are getting an exclusive first listen to its next single, "That's Alright." Press play above to listen.

"That's Alright," Eady tells The Boot, is a true story that name-drops the artist's old stomping grounds as he talks about adapting to his surroundings. Eady is a Jackson, Miss., native who spent plenty of time in New Orleans, La., on the weekends. He joined the Air Force and moved to the West Coast, then spent time in Fort Worth, Texas; that's where he met his now-wife, singer-songwriter Courtney Patton. These days, they live together out in the country.

"We recorded this song on the first day in the studio. It’s the biggest groove song on the record, and I wanted that to set the tone for everything else," Eady shares. "It’s one of our favorite songs to play live, and I hope people enjoy listening to it as much as we love playing it."

Eady released his most recent album, a self-titled project, to critical acclaim in April of 2017. His new record, I Travel On, is due out on Aug. 10; he and his touring band -- Naj Conklin, Giovanni Carnuccio and Kevin Foster -- recorded the project acoustically, in mostly one-take sessions. According to Billboard, Eady booked the studio time for the album with no songs ready to go, and used that pressure to fuel the project.
