There are many fine organizations in the Abilene area. Among the top is Special Olympics Texas. Amazing people doing amazing things. They provide year-round sports training and competitions for more than 58,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Your chance to see these athletes in action is coming with the Area Bocce Competition. Bocce is a sport that is played with eight weighted balls aimed at a smaller target ball. The object is to get your balls closer to the target ball than your opponent. There will be well over 100 athletes and partners competing from all over the area including San Angelo, Eula, Brownwood, and Brady.
