In this hilarious tale of a Christmas vacation gone wrong, the McAllister family jets of to Paris without realizing they accidentally left their youngest child, Kevin (Macaulay Culkin), at their Chicago home alone. Precocious and clever Kevin doesn't seem to mind too much, thinking his Christmas wish for his family's disappearance came true.

Kevin's sweet freedom doesn't last long when a pair of incompetent crooks who call themselves the Wet Bandits (because they leave flooded, looted houses in their wake) stake out the McAllister house as their next target. Slapstick hijinks and creative booby traps abound as Kevin defends the family home while anxiously awaiting his parents' return.

Now considered a classic work of writer John Hughes (of Sixteen Candles and National Lampoon's Vacation fame), 1990's Home Alone was the highest-grossing live-action comedy ever before the release of The Hangover Part II in 2011. In addition to its Golden Globe and Academy Awards nods, this movie remains a quotable Christmas classic that the whole family will love.

Even just the trailer itself (below) is sure to stir up plenty of that sweet, sweet VHS nostalgia.

(Just so we're clear: "Bless this highly nutritious microwavable macaroni and cheese dinner and the people who sold it on sale. Amen." is how I bless my food at every meal.)
