First Positive Case of Coronavirus Confirmed in Abilene

Officials from Hendrick Medical Center and City of Abilene confirmed, Thursday morning, that a patient has tested positive for Covid-19, otherwise known as the coronavirus.

During the press conference, the patient was identified as a 40-year-old man who went to the ER with symptoms. Said patient was placed in quarantine and is considered to be in stable condition.

At the time, officials didn't know whether the patient contracted the virus while travelling or within the local community.
