Abilene Christian University’s Student Government Association and the International Students Association are bringing Aaron Watson to the ACU campus on Sunday, November 7, 2021, as part of ACU’s FREE annual Christmas Around the World.

This kickoff event for ACU’s two-week celebration of holiday traditions from around the globe will take place on the steps in front of the Onstead-Packer Biblical Studies Building on November 7. Vendors and food trucks will be open from 5:30 to 8 PM, with the Christmas tree lighting at 7:30 PM and Aaron Watson taking the stage at 7:45 PM.

Since this is a FREE event open to the community, feel free to bring your blankets and lawn chairs for a night of music and Christmas magic ahead of the holiday season. Details, directions and more can be found on the event’s Facebook page.

Watson himself has special ties to the Big Country. Watson attended both Lubbock Christian University and ACU (class of 2000) while writing his first songs and cutting his teeth in the regional Texas Country scene. Now, local crowds can’t get enough of him, and he’s reached mainstay status in the Texas Country music scene as a songwriter and performer.

Despite his rigorous national touring schedule and independently-released music mania, Watson still makes time to stay involved with his family and adoring fans. His faith also plays into much of his music, including his 2018 Christmas album “An Aaron Watson Family Christmas” featuring his wife and three children joining him on holiday classics. You can listen to “Silent Night” from that album below.
