While Brandi Carlile is no stranger to Caribbean and Mexican musical getaways -- she has performed at tropical weekend festivals with John Mayer, the Dave Matthews Band and the Avett Brothers, and even regularly participated in a musical cruise called Cayamo -- the Americana artist has announced a brand-new festival of her own to take place in early 2019. On July 18, Carlile unveiled the all-female lineup of her inaugural Girls Just Wanna Weekend, which will take place from Jan. 30-Feb. 3, 2019.

"Mainstream festivals in the U.S. habitually exclude women as headline artists equal to men," Carlile shared in an Instagram post announcing the event. "I was brought up by Lilith Fair to believe that men and women enjoy live music equally, and that women can not only headline a festival, they can BE a festival."

The proof is in the lineup. The Girls Just Wanna Weekend will feature Maren Morris, the Indigo Girls and Margo Price as headliners alongside Carlile, and will also include her fellow Cayamo performers Patty Griffin, the Secret Sisters and Ruby Amanfu. Carlile adds in her post that she's excited to get to Lucius and KT Tunstall, the two acts newer to the setting.

Carlile goes on to say that although the festival's focus is on female performers, she hopes that the audience will be full of both men and women, and people from all walks of life. "I would absolutely LOVE to see a ton of men there supporting women in rock and roll," she adds. "I want to see mothers with children, single people, LGBTQ brothers and sisters letting it all go for a weekend together in harmony (with bottomless tequila on hand to assist). Let's start something together. We won't let you down."

The Girls Just Wanna Weekend will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, and attendees can choose from a variety of room and suite packages within the hotel. Tickets will go on sale on Aug. 1, 2018, but members of Carlile's official fan club, the Bramily Fan Alliance, will be eligible for an exclusive pre-sale on July 31.
