Based on the original fairytale by E.T.A. Hoffman and featuring iconic music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, The Nutcracker is a lush, whimsical ballet that follows a young girl named Clara, who receives an enchanted nutcracker on Christmas Eve. The nutcracker springs to life to defeat the evil Mouse King and takes Clara to the Land of Sweets to celebrate their victory.

The Sugar Plum Fairy Tea provides guests the opportunity to peek "behind the curtain" and preview The Nutcracker performers and enjoy some sweet refreshments. This is the main fundraiser for the Abilene Ballet Theatre, and helps provide scholarships for young dancers to attend summer training programs across the U.S. Photo-ops with performers will be available, along with raffle tickets to win a 6-foot Nutcracker and other memorabilia for purchase. T-shirts will also be available.
